Biography
Madeleen de Geus-Bosma is a clinical chemist and assistant professor at Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), The Netherlands. She began her career in basic research in physiology and cell biology before transitioning to clinical chemistry, driven by a desire to work closer to patient care. Her current research line, Digital Precision Diagnostics, focuses on digital metrology, value-based diagnostics and clinical decision support, with the aim of improving the quality, appropriateness and clinical impact of diagnostic testing and data exchange.
She is author or co-author of more than 40 scientific publications, a titular member of the Committee on Nomenclature, Properties and Units (C-NPU) of the IFCC, a member of the editorial board of the Dutch Labcode Set and chair of the Committee on Healthcare Evaluation, contributing to the Knowledge Agenda 2026 of the NVKC, the Dutch Association for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine.
