David Baumgartner runs a private diagnostic imaging centre in Salzburg and builds the software that operates it. As Managing Director of the Dr. Ernst Doringer Institut für CT und MRT he is responsible for a high-volume CT and MRI practice serving statutory and private patients. As co-founder of MiraNext GmbH he develops the radiology information and patient management platform that MiraNext supplies to radiology practices and imaging centres in Austria and Germany.

His work sits where the two roles meet. One side is the operational question of how a radiology department gets patients through the door, to the right examination and to a reported result without avoidable delay. The other is the engineering question of which parts of that path can safely be automated. Current priorities are digital pre-registration and scheduling, structured reporting, teleradiology across sites, and the integration of AI results into the reporting workflow itself. MiraNext operates under a governance framework aligned with ISO/IEC 42001, the EU AI Act and the MDR, on the view that clinical AI succeeds or fails on the accountability of the process around it.
