Alexander Tolios is a specialist in transfusion medicine and laboratory medicine at the Department of Transfusion Medicine and Cell Therapy, Medical University of Vienna, where he heads the routine laboratory and the laboratory for platelet immunology and platelet function. His research interests include bioinformatics, biostatistics and data science, predictive modelling and machine learning, immunohaematology diagnostics and platelet physiology. He is co-author of EFLM publications on AI adoption in European laboratory medicine and on language models for interpreting laboratory results.
